All Hip Hop Artists Aren't Putting Out Good Rhyme
Since its introduction onto the music scene in the late 1970s rap music has evolved into a multi-billion dollar (thats with a B) industry.

Rap artists appear to outnumber traditional singers with no slowing down of new artists popping up in sight.

The styles of rap run the gambit of lyrical and musical arrangement. with each artist lending their own unique flare to their creations.

I am a old-school R & B soul music man myself but I can get into some rap.

But Im here to tell you, all rap aint good rap.

Although I am no rap music aficionado I do know good music when I hear it.

Some of the music trying to slide in under the label of rap needs to slide back out.

I am of the opinion that you cannot just attach yourself to a musical grouping and declare your music good just because you happen to be performing the same kind of music as others in that group.

Your music has to have a style, a rhythm and a sound that is satisfying to the ear no matter what particular genre you claim to be a part of.

There are too many artists that throw something together, hype it up and then expect the public to like it simply because it carries the rap music label.

Sorry, we aint goin for it homie!

A serious effort needs to be made to produce quality music that can stand the test of time and you cant create that kind of music in a couple of quickie studio sessions.

Old school singers and musicians spent hours in the studio in an effort to perfect a sound and produce quality music that entertained you as well as made you feel something on the inside.

Rap music should be no different.

Some of the language in rap music I could do without but aside from that there are some good samplings available from rappers who you can tell spent serious time perfecting their music.

And it shows.

Some old school rappers who have been on the scene for a number of years like Snoop Dogg and LL Cool J put in the time that it took to develop a musical style that would have mass appeal and success.

Though I wish that Snoop would have toned down the language a little at times, his musical appeal is undeniable.

In recent years he has mellowed a bit and put out some renditions that have had more of a family-oriented appeal.

It goes without saying however, that you cannot short-change your efforts in rap music just like you cannot short-change your efforts in any other kind of music or the results will speak for themselves.

Ya dig?

Fo shizzle my nizzle
Feel me?

Out.
